Monza of Old Town Manassas, Va. collected 152 coats for the local community shelter, SERVE, during the Manassas Christmas parade. For every person that donated a coat, Monza gave away a $25 Monza gift card. For more information, call 703.434.3621 or go to www.eatmonza.com.

“Our holiday coat drive was a great success due to the generous support of the Manassas community,” said Miguel Pires, general manager of Monza of Old Town Manassas, Va. “SERVE does so much for those in need, it’s our honor to help them with their programs,” said Pires.

Kick off New Year’s Eve at Monza of Old Town Manassas, Va. on Tues., Dec. 31 at 10:15 p.m. with the James Dean or Wayne Newton New Year’s Eve Package. The James Dean Package is $10 per person made before Dec. 31 and $15 for reservations made on Dec. 31, which includes party favors, midnight toast, music with disc jockey and a closing cup of Monza’ chicken noodle soup. While the Wayne Newton Package is $36 per person (with a four person minimum) and includes a reserved table, party favors, music with disc jockey, some beverages and a closing cup of Monza chicken noodle soup. Monza’s pizza menu will available for dining with both packages. Carmello’s of Old Town Manassas, Va. is offering two New Year’s Eve dining options on Tues., Dec. 31. At 9:30 p.m., Carmello’s will feature an All Inclusive Five-Course New Year’s Dinner with live band, party favors, midnight toast and beverages. Carmello’s of Old Town Manassas, Va. is offering a Christmas Eve dinner on Tues, Dec. 24 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and children, 12 and younger can eat free from Carmello’s children’s menu. A two-pound lobster, stuffed with crabmeat, shrimp and scallops will be offered for $48, and diners can also choose items from the new winter menu, which includes favorites like Wild Boar Ragout, Veal Agnolotti and Mar E Terra.  For more reservations, go to www.carmellos.com.

Monza of Historic Manassas will be collecting gently used coats to donate to SERVE in exchange for a $25 Monza or Carmello’s gift card and free hot chocolate and coffee on Sat.,
Dec. 7 during the Greater Manassas Christmas Parade. Coat donations will be accepted from

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Monza at 9405 Battle Street in Old Town Manassas, Va. Monza is also offering a half-priced pizza lunch after the parade. For more information, go to www.eatmonza.com.

“We all feel the drop in temperature, and for those in need, sometimes one warm coat is hard to come by which is why we wanted to help collect as many coats as possible for the our local SERVE program,” said Miguel Pires, general manager of Monza in Historic Manassas, Va. “SERVE has been instrumental in helping the neediest of our community and we hope people will be able to help us be able to give back, and enjoy a free coffee and gift card on us,” said Pires.

Paula Cano was recently named head chef of Carmello’s in Old Town Manassas. Hired by Carmello’s more than two years, Cano’s artistic passion for beauty and creativity showed through in the finest details of her dishes, which is how she claimed her spot as head chef of Carmello’s. A Colombian-native, Cano began with a love for art before she knew food was her real passion. As a graduate of Art Institute of Washington, D.C., she merged her two loves of food and art. Morais Vineyards of Bealeton, Va. is hosting a five-course, fall wine dinner with Carmello’s of Old Town Manassas, Va. on Thurs., Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Menu items highlight Caremello’s new fall menu, including clam cataplana, braised rabbit and beef short rib. The five-course menu includes: Clam Cataplana, clams with coriander cilantro broth, served with Morais Vineyards Battlefield Green Wine; Spinach Salad with toasted walnuts, goat cheese, cherry, tomatoes, citrus vinaigrette, served with Morais Vineyards Rose; Braised Rabbit with fennel, leek and orange, paired with Morais Vineyards Touriga National; Beef Short Rib, with carrots and pickled shallots, paired with Morais Vineyards Cabernet Franc; and Poached Pears with moscatel wine syrup, served with Morais Vineyards Moscatel.
