Tyson's Galleria Continues to Build Out with New Luxury Retailers

Tyson's Galleria Continues to Build Out with New Luxury Retailers

Rich Dinning has been the General Manager of Tyson’s Galleria since last August. Dinning's role is to oversee the vision of the center and to make Tyson's Galleria a destination for both luxury shoppers and retailers. He oversees all aspects of property management and works closely with the leasing team.

Since he started in August 2010, many additional retailers have been added to the center such as Gucci, Elie Tahari, Omega, and Louis Vuitton. Galleria currently has just over 90 retailers, including 9 different restaurants. One of Dinning’s main goals is to attract high-end retailers. “Our retailers are what making Tyson’s Galleria, Tyson’s Galleria,” he said.

City of Falls Church Begins Sidewalk Improvement Project

From the City of Falls Church:

The City of Falls Church is launching a city-wide sidewalk improvement project this week to repair 516 locations with defects including cracks, heaves, and non-ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps. The project is fully funded by a $300,000 federal grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and is expected to be completed by November 2011.

In December 2009, City staff conducted a condition assessment of sidewalks along the city’s main streets.  The full length of each street segment was inspected and defects were inventoried using GPS equipment. Approximately 33,250 square feet of sidewalk needs to be replaced. The execution of the project will address all deficiencies noted in the 2009 inventory.

Childhelp’s Capitol CAREaoke Rocked the Reagan Building to Fight Child Abuse

On Tuesday night, the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center was rockin’, thanks to a host of journalists, politicians, and sports personalities. The room was busting with a who’s who crowd, and they were all there for one common [and very commendable] purpose: to raise money and awareness in support of Childhelp's fight against child abuse and neglect. The event—dubbed CAREaoke—is an annual affair that benefits the organization, and while award-winning journalist Rebecca Cooper (WJLA) was the evening’s hostess, she is also the event’s founder.

Because It's Good Pho You (and Delicious!)

Because It's Good Pho You (and Delicious!)

Pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup that is usually served with beef or chicken, has become increasingly popular. Today I had lunch at Pho 75, which is located at 1721 Wilson Boulevard. The lunch crowd was bustling and I spoke to some customers. Pergrin Pervez, a Georgetown resident and regular Pho eater stopped by Pho 75 for his lunch today. “I eat Pho a lot, but I usually do on the weekends. It’s a great hangover food and also great when you’re sick. I think it has a lot of healing qualities,” said Pervez.
