Farmers Markets Remain Open Well Into The Fall

The days are getting shorter and going back to school is now a reality, but the wonderful farmers markets that bring fresh produce and delicious, farm-made products to your neighborhood remain open.  In fact, fall is one of the best times to enjoy the bounty of these local markets found throughout Fairfax County.

As the library revamps the website, you can find all of the upcoming events here. Here are some upcoming events:

Introduction to Comic Books: Learn the basics to create your very own comic strips! For ages 9-15. (Registration required.)

Night at the Library: Inspector Clue is on the case thanks to Dewey the Librarian. Help them solve the mystery! Especially fun for school aged kids.

New Falls Church Library Operating Hours in Effect

From the City of Falls Church:

 

The Mary Riley Styles Public Library, 120 N. Virginia Ave. in the City of Falls Church, begins new hours of operation this month including the addition of Sunday hours starting on July 10.

The library is open 64 hours per week including Sunday afternoons.  Sunday hours were eliminated in FY11 due to budget cuts.  In order to reinstate Sunday hours, the library will be closed on Wednesday mornings, beginning July 6.  The new schedule is as follows:
