FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WUSA9) -- The murder of a 23-year-old man early Christmas morning has left a quiet residential neighborhood in Falls Church unnerved and saddened.

Santos Narcisco Osorio, 34. was arrested Friday in the stabbing death of Edgar Armando Serrano of Annandale.

Early Friday morning, police found Serrano unresponsive and on the ground outside a home in the 7600 block of Trail Run Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The stabbing took place in a neighborhood directly behind Falls Church High School in a place where any type of crime is rare. The neighborhood awoke to crime scene tape and the remnants of a violent death.

“My Mom said she heard screaming,” Cristie Samaha said. “She thought it was just animals.”

“It was very unusual,” Oscar Collado said. “My daughter said Dad come out here, there’s a lot of cops out there.”

Police believe a fight after a party led to the stabbing. Crime scene technicians spent time inside this house and left with a cell phone in an evidence bag.

“We leave our doors unlocked. We leave our cars unlocked,” Samaha said. “The worst that’s ever happened is someone’s come into our cars and stole our GPS. This is kind of creepy.”

“This is a very good neighborhood,” Bill Herbert said. “Very nice people…they’re all good people here.”

As investigators search for clues, residents mourn the death of a stranger.

“My thoughts are kind of with the family and it’s really just sad that it happened on Christmas Day,” a resident said.

Osorio was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with homicide.
