My Tran, DDS of Gainesville Pediatric Dentistry in Gainesville, Va. is an active participant in Virginia Commonwealth University’s Mission of Mercy project, a program that targets underserved parts of Virginia, where there are not enough dental practitioners to adequately address the community’s oral health needs. St. Patrick's Day at City Square Cafe Serves Homemade Corned Beef and Cabbage

The City of Falls Church will host its 30th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Festival on Monday, May 30. The event will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Falls Church City Hall grounds, located at 300 Park Ave.  Admission is free!

Those who have served in the armed forces will be honored at a Veterans Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Falls Church City Community Center, 223 Little Falls St.

Gainesville Pediatric Dentistry Takes a Polar Dip to Help Children

Drs. Arshia Shingler and My Tran plunged into cold waters for the Virginia Polar Dip in Reston, Va. at the Reston Community Center in Lake Anne, benefitting Camp Sunshine, a retreat in Maine for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. All proceeds help send children from the DC area to Camp Sunshine. To date, the Virginia Polar Dip has raised more than $73,000. The 2011 year, our goal is to raise $75,000 which will allow 37 families from the VA/MD/DC area to come to Camp Sunshine. For more information, go to www.freezinforareason.com.

Salon Daniel of McLean, Va. collected personal hygiene products and food for Share, Inc. of McLean, Va. Thirty shampoos, 16 shaving cream bottles, and 20 bars of soap were collected, while food items donated were valued at $300. Salon Daniel Hairstylists Donate Hair Services to Local Teens

Salon Daniel of McLean, Va. recently treated 54 local teenage girls to a ‘salon day’ in preparation for Pure Fashion Show on Sun., April 3, in Bethesda, Md. The Salon Daniel hair stylists and make-up artists shared their beauty tips and headshots were taken for the Pure Fashion Show program booklet.

 Pure Fashion is a program designed for girls, ages 14 to 18. It is a character formation program that enhances not only a young woman's external appearance, but more importantly, her interior beauty and balanced self confidence.
