Events, News

From the City of Falls Church:

The public is invited to a Town Hall meeting on Monday, Feb. 13, to discuss the City of Falls Church’s proposed Watershed Management Plan. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Dogwood Room of City Hall (300 Park Ave., G Level). The plan can be viewed on the City’s website, www.fallschurchva.gov/watershed, or in the Public Works office in City Hall (300 Park Ave., Suite 100 West).

During the Town Hall the Department of Public Works will describe current stormwater concerns, the process that led to the creation of the Watershed Management Plan, key decision- making factors, Watershed Advisory Committee recommendations, and funding considerations. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments. City residents and business owners who cannot attend the meeting may submit comments via email to the Department of Public Works, dpw@fallschurchva.gov.

The Watershed Management Plan prioritizes strategies and provides recommendations for best watershed management practices across the City. The Plan is the result of a nearly-two year process designed to create a roadmap for (1) reducing flooding to improve safety and protect property, (2) restore and maintain a healthy local aquatic ecosystem, and (3) cost- effectively comply with state and federal water quality and stormwater management regulations.
