St. Patrick's Day at City Square Cafe Serves Homemade Corned Beef and Cabbage

City Square Café in Old Town Manassas, Va. is featuring an all- day celebration with an Irish pub bar and traditional corned beef and cabbage with parsley potatoes for $16.99 per person, not including tax and gratuity. The St. Patrick’s Day special will be featured on St. Patrick’s Day, Thurs., Mar. 17 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Live entertainment will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with traditional Irish performances. The City of Falls Church will host its 30th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Festival on Monday, May 30. The event will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Falls Church City Hall grounds, located at 300 Park Ave.  Admission is free!

Those who have served in the armed forces will be honored at a Veterans Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Falls Church City Community Center, 223 Little Falls St.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Washington Wizards will host viewing parties on Friday February 25 to support the team as they face the Miami Heat. Although the game will tip-off at 7:00 pm, fans will have the chance to get ready for the game at Grevey’s  with happy hour specials starting at 6:00 pm. Specials include $3.50 Budweiser and Bud Light as well as the Kentucky Burger as a salute to Wizards guard John Wall.   Icons will join the viewing fun at 9:00 with $3 Michelob ultras, $5 chicken phillys and $9 Budweiser pitchers. In addition, fans will have a chance to win prizes that include tickets to a Wizards game as well as autographed jerseys.

Arshia Shingler and My Tran plunged into cold waters for the Virginia Polar Dip in Reston, Va. at the Reston Community Center in Lake Anne, benefitting Camp Sunshine, a retreat in Maine for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. All proceeds help send children from the DC area to Camp Sunshine. To date, the Virginia Polar Dip has raised more than $73,000. Eating Pancakes Helps Raises Funds for Falls Church City Library

In recognition of Library Lovers’ Month, the Original Pancake House has designated Thursday, Feb. 24 as Charity Day for the Mary Riley Styles Public Library in Falls Church.  The Pancake house is located at 7395 Lee Hwy., Falls Church.  On Feb. 24, 15% of the restaurant’s gross sales will be donated to the Falls Church library to help fund additional books, DVDs, audio-books and other items that will be used by the public.

The Mary Riley Styles Public Library is located at 120 N. Virginia Ave.
